Announced as Divinity, the game was debuted with a audacious trailer featuring striking imagery, from a figure engulfed in flames to an orgy and the very descent into chaos.
A Different Direction
Anyone hoping for Divinity Original Sin 3, prepare for a surprise. Larian clarified that a direct sequel to its beloved RPGs is not being worked on now.

What Makes Divinity Special
The Divinity series is highly rated and arguably it sparked the modern wave of crunchy computer role-playing games. These games are celebrated for detailed worlds, player agency, and deep class systems—qualities that recently reached new heights in games like Baldur's Gate 3.
While its universe is traditional swords and sorcery, what really distinguishes Divinity apart is the immense freedom granted to the player.
In contrast to modern RPGs have streamlined options, Divinity is packed with specialized paths only possible by choosing a specific type of character with a unique decision path.
The series is also famously permissive, allowing players to improvise both in story and combat. Nearly every quest can be solved in a variety of manners, frequently in unexpected fashion.
- You might solve a puzzle because you remembered something a non-human character said.
- Or, you could bypass a challenge by teleporting a glob of lava in a inventive way.
The Journey Continues
It is these creative systems that have cemented the series to declare games like Divinity Original Sin 2 as one of the best role-playing games of all time. Now, the RPG community can get ready for another adventure in this legendary franchise.
